Jacob Holbrook is a freshmen at WKU (Western Kentucky University) who is also an openly gay student on campus who preforms drag. He is involved in a lot of extra curricular activities on campus such as being a member of the honors frat, being part of the forensics team, helping out a sorority as a honorary member, and participating in the Cabaret that the theater program does.
Jacob Holbrook is a first-year student at WKU (Western Kentucky University) who is also an openly gay student on campus who performs drag. He has known his passion of doing drag since he was very little. His mother has always supported his passions and is his number on cheerleader. He is incredibly involved in campus life joining an honors frat, joining sororities as an honorary member, joining the forensic debate team, and joining theater program and participating in their cabarets.
Jacob Holbrook wanted to get involved with greek life But did not want to rush feeling he'd not fit in frat life. she joined a sorority as an honary member.
"Each type of visual aid has pros and cons that must be evaluated to ensure it will be beneficial to the overall presentation. Before incorporating visual aids into speeches, the speaker should understand that if used incorrectly, the visual will not be an aid, but a distraction."
Jacob and his friend act as host at senior cabarets to send off the seniors in the theater program.
Theater on WKU campus has really been a big sense of community for Jacob. Through this he has made a tone of friends and has been able to have a place on campus that supports his passion of drag
“The theatre department has given me a lot of opportunities and a lot of things that has helped me acclimate being alone and away from home.”
Jacob is part of the WKU Forensics team. He practices his speeches and performances in the practice room's in the FAC (CENTER FOR FINE ARTS). getting ready for nationals where the Forensics team would be performing.
A powerful speech talking about the inequalities of the LGBTQ+ community "A movement to "protect" children from exposure to LGBTQ+ identities has gained adherents in recent years, especially amid a rising tide of "grooming" accusations against the Community."
Jacob gets emotional after reading lines off his forensics lines book. that takes about the inequalities of being part of LGBTQ+ community. “its kind of like victimizing and villainizing, this art form has helped many people grow and help many people figure out who they are."
On forensic team he gets to give impactful performances about social issues involving the LGBTQ+ community. In cabarets he can be more himself by getting into drag and performing in a community that supports him. Through getting into drag and going into his stage name Saphire Sparklez this allows him to feel more like himself.
Jacob looks into a mirror as he does his makeup and gets into drag during an hour long makeup session. Getting into drag takes time and effort. Even before getting on stage for the show a drag queen is been working hard for a god hour or two. He gets dressed fully in his dorm room in Meredith hall before he goes to whatever event he goes to in drag.
Jacob poses has he finishes getting into drag. He goes under his drag stage name Saphire Sparklez.

Though he struggles with the stigmas and fear coming with being someone part of the drag community in a state with tones of anti-drag and anti LGBTQ+ legislation. Through the many supports systems Jacob established on campus, he made bonds that will last a lifetime and a community on campus of people who love and support him and would do anything to help him succeed.

Jacob Holbrook opens the curtains during his drag show at the Love Cabaret as his first ever drag show in front of audience. Just as Jacob Holbrook is apart of who he is so is Saphire Sparklez. He wishes to contiune his drag career in the up coming years.
